Guidelines and Policies

Sustainable research data management is a central aspect of good academic practice. Accordingly, it is the subject of relevant guidelines and policies that formulate essential framework conditions for researchers with respect to their data management.

Policies of third-party funders, research communities and journals

Third-party funders also formulate policies and guidelines on data management. For project applications, the creation of a data management plan is usually mandatory. In addition, research data should be shared with the community as far as possible and, in the best case, they should be published as open research data, unless there are specific reasons to the contrary. However, there is also the possibility of acquiring funding for personnel and/or material resources related to RDM for your project.

Please inform yourself about specific regulations and requirements of funding programs that are relevant for you.
